This school is not meant for students who want to wing it. If your child is ready to handle the work and grow as a student, this is the school for you.

Grace Foster is an exceptional Kindergarten teacher who has had a profoundly positive effect on my child. Her professionalism, communication, and warmth set the tone for a classroom where students feel supported and motivated. She truly understands the developmental needs of young learners and meets them with patience, creativity, and genuine care. I am grateful for the stability, encouragement, and enthusiasm she brings daily. She is the kind of educator every parent hopes their child will have.

This school has become a deeply disheartening place. The constant turnover, the reliance on under-qualified staff, and the exhausting working conditions have taken a visible toll on everyone. Teachers and TAs look drained, morale feels nonexistent, and the weight of the environment eventually reaches the students as well. The location and commute add another layer of strain that makes daily life even harder for staff and families. It is sad to watch an institution operate in a way that wears people down and leaves both staff and students struggling. Serious changes are needed before this becomes a healthy place for anyone.

The only thing I can say I appreciate is that she has a clear academic vision and believes grades should reflect learning. Outside of that, I do not feel there is anything in her approach that supports teachers or fosters a positive environment. Most of what is presented as teacher involvement feels like a performance rather than genuine collaboration, and it has created a climate where many of us are afraid to speak openly.
The most important improvement would be true collaboration. Leadership needs to stop giving the illusion of valuing teacher input and actually listen to the staff. The way she treats teachers has created an environment where people feel psychologically unsafe. Respectful communication, transparency, and a willingness to consider other perspectives would completely change the culture. Right now, the school feels controlled, closed-off, and emotionally draining.
A clear negative example is how leadership handles academic or disciplinary concerns. Instead of support, the typical response is criticism or a long lecture that does nothing to help you address the issue. It often feels like she looks for opportunities to belittle staff, which makes it extremely difficult to feel confident or secure in your role. This lack of support directly affects the classroom, because teachers are left handling everything alone while also managing the emotional toll of the work environment. I have not experienced a positive impact from her leadership.

Working under this leadership left me tired in ways I did not expect. I wanted a school that felt modern, collaborative, and aligned with real student needs. Instead, I felt stuck in outdated systems, disconnected decisions, and a lack of direction. I often felt invisible, hoping for leadership that built trust and community, but instead feeling like I was drifting without support. The school has potential, but only if leadership is willing to evolve, communicate openly, and treat teacher insight as essential, not optional. Until that shift happens, the disconnect between what teachers need and what leadership provides will continue to take a toll.

Moving to this area and having my children attend Woodstock Elementary School has been a blessing.
